Welcome back!

 
Welcome to Ms. Erikson's First Grade Class 2014-2015! What an exciting first few days of school has been at Benton STEM Elementary.
 

 
Our Cool Tool Lessons for the week are:
 
Aug. 19-22 & Aug. 25-29:
#1 – I can stop recess activity immediately…First whistle means "freeze" second whistle means "line up"
#2 – I can keep my body calm while walking in hallway…We took a tour around our school! Ask your student what his or her job was. (Security guard, Expectation Expert, Tour Guide, etc.)
#3 – I can be respectful by following restroom procedures
#9 – I can be safe and respectful by following Cafeteria expectations
 
Homework packet: Friendly reminder, the Homework Packet will be sent home every Friday and due the following Friday. This week is a classroom update and next week will be behavior sheet. Also, read 20 minutes a night. Let me know if you need books, flashcards, or other resources.
 
Healthy Snacks: We are in need of snack for our classroom some ideas may include fruit snacks, pretzels, goldfish, carrots, or grapes. We would appreciate your support.
 
 
PTA football games Volunteers: I will be there for every game! :)
 A minimum number of 17 volunteers must be in the stand at all times in order to comply with the contract.
 - A core group must be designated of 5 individuals to attend each game for training and consistency.
- All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
 - Volunteers report to the facility at least 2 hours prior to doors opening for an event.
- Benton PTA will receive 10% of the net food and net non-alcohol beverage sales.  We have the ability to earn an additional 2% of sales also.  If we have more than our minimum number of volunteers and our extras are used elsewhere, then we will receive $25 for each volunteer used.
 - If staffing requirements are met for the entirety of the season, Benton will receive an additional 10% of the total donation at the end of the season.
 - 'Uniforms' will consist of khaki shorts/pants, black or white tennis shoes, a black shirt provided by the company, and a hat which will be purchased by PTA.
 - Volunteers can receive either a hot dog, nachos, or pretzel during the shift.
 Home games are as follows:
August 30th
September 13th & 20th
October 11th & 25th
November 1st & 28th
